• Founded as the Kingdom of Hungary in the 896 AD
  
• Signed Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867
  
• Compromise and Austria-Hungary dissolved after WWI in 1918
  
• Fought on the side of the Axis during WWII, though wavered in loyalty to Germany later in the war and was subsequently occupied until its unconditional surrender to the Allies shortly before the end of the war
  
• Declared war on Russia during WWII and was invaded by the Red Army
  
• After end of WWII, Red Army continued to occupy Hungary
  
• Kingdom of Hungary became People's Republic of Hungary in 1948, a satellite state of the Soviet Union. Tens of thousands of citizens were killed and around 100,000 were imprisoned from 1948-1956

Personality Quirks and Head-Canon

• Was tomboyish as a child and according to Himaruya is likely the manliest character in the series as an adult
  
• Was disappointed when she found out she was girl
  
• Enjoys gender-bends for this reason, encouraging them in both sexes (dressed Chibitalia in traditional Hungarian female clothes)
  
• A fujoshi, meaning she is a fan of male/male pairings, even (if not especially) ones involving Austria. Will encourage them and drool over them if seeing interaction in person
  
• Difficult to calm when she gets on a tangent about male love
  
• Normally speaks casual contemporary language but will occaisionally slip into very formal language (a side-effect of being over 1000 years old)
  
• Normally very calm and graceful, but quick to anger. Quite scary when she's angry
