I want to thank everyone who sent me love on the love meme. It bowled me over. Thank you!!! I almost never get mentioned on those type of things and was so happily surprised that I was remembered. *hugs to all of you

Still, you'd think they'd be somewhat aware of various stars of shows. Between reading my flist and People magazine (yes, I know - guilty pleasure) I'm usually semi-aware of pop culture.
I watched the same Jeopardy and was really, really surprised that none of them knew SV or SPN or even OTH since they're some of the most popular CW shows. It was even more boggling that the one show that guy did know was that Disney program iCarly.
Once I shifted my thinking around a bit though, it made me feel really old 'cause I realized that at least part of the reason they were probably unaware of those series is that the shows have each been on for 7 - 10 years. So for the trio they'd have been around 7 years old when they first premiered. In that light I could understand why these particular teen-centric shows probably appealed more to the generation right ahead of them. The Jeopardy people would have been better off picking shows that premiered when the kids in question were in the target age range.
All that said, I got a good laugh out of it and sort of loved that SV and SPN were included as clues.
That explanation makes a lot of sense. I knew the Fringe question because Joshua Jackson used to be on Dawson's Creek (which would really be ancient history for the contestants.)
I'm always a bit thrilled when Smallville and Supernatural are mentioned anywhere.
I think it is brilliant actually that teenagers don't know all the TV-shows. :) They probably spend their time doing something better than watching TV. I hardly ever watch TV myself and I don't feel that I loose out on anything.

The third one down was Tom Welling and Erica Durance - no one buzzed in with 'What is Smallville?'
That show has been on for a decade! How could anyone avoid seeing it? Bizarre.
