One thing the hospice counsellor (who came to see me for over a year) suggested, after a while, was writing a list of all the things I had managed to get done since Gerry died. It helped me see how much progress I was making, however slowly. Even now, I do that, after 5+ years.

I did start making lists, but more to try to keep the whole thing somewhat organized. At this point, I'm focusing more on the paperwork. In another month or two, I'll start working on his room, probably one section at a time. It might not be a bad idea to continue with the list for that, too.
Oh, you know, I meant to come back and delete my comment (but I'm getting forgetful), afraid that I sounded like a know-it-all or something. You know what to do and will do it well! I tend to over-relate, maybe, because of my experience.
