Planned Parenthood funding -- with a twist

The Republican party is doing nauseatingly frightening things to women's rights in the US right now, including restricting access to abortion and to the places where people can get contraception and safer sex advice.

Specifically, there's this fuckery being legally forced on women (and their doctors) in Texas.

I'm in East Texas, and I've been reading about this stuff as it was happening. Most of the politicians involved in the "personhood" legislation around the country can't even bring themselves to say vagina, which tells you a lot about their mentality.

I'm really disappointed the Planned Parenthood in my area closed down. It was just a little satellite office with odd hours, but it was there, and they were just about the only place I could find to get an annual checkup. Most OB/GYN places aren't taking new patients and/or they're focusing on the OB part of their practice. The annual "check under the hood" doesn't make them a lot of money in comparison.

I'll have to drive farther next time, but I will, and I'll make a donation while I'm there.
