No, it's not "sturmisch bewegt...", this is the march in the third movement.

Description from Wikipedia:

Feierlich und gemessen, ohne zu schleppen (Solemnly and measured, without dragging), Sehr einfach und schlicht wie eine Volksweise (very simple, like a folk-tune), and Wieder etwas bewegter, wie im Anfang (something stronger, as at the start) - a funeral march based on the children's song "Frère Jacques" (or "Bruder Martin")

yeah, third movement i know now. it's cool, it kinda sounds like three blind mice. but i'm also talking about another piece that i'm trying to find a name to. it's very intense, i LOVE it. i'm new to mahler as you can tell. the little mp3 snip i have deosn't have a title to it.

well, does anyone recomend a good recording of the 3rd movement/1st symphony?

Well, I ended up going to Borders looking for Symphony No.1 but ditching it because it was a crap edition and buying Symphony No.5 thinking something else. Anyway, it's a good thing I didn't open it. All I needed to do was go to the library. Yesterday I can home with a stack of cd's! Picked out the best recordings and renditions and burned them. Turns out both pieces I was looking for where on Symphony No.1 - movements 3&4, how odd and cool that was. AWESOME STUFF!!!

Thanks for all your help, guys!!

yeah, the famous Funeral March from the 1-st Symphony. Writing it Mahler was inspired by the engraving 'The Huntsman's Funeral' - the animals of the forest accompany the dead huntsman's coffin to the graveside.

YUP! Found it already. And the weird thing is that the other piece I was looking for ended up being the 4th movement! My two favorite pieces in the same symph, great! Thanks.

Haha woops. I'm new to LJ so I didn't see the "read comments" thing. But that's really awesome. Mahler's 1st symphony is definitely my favorite. His other symphonies are really fantastic, but I think the first just sounds magical, especially the first movement. It was one of the first pieces from the romantic period that I heard, and its style was just so different, it was addicting. =]
