A Milestone, of Sorts

Today, I found my first grey hair. It was white, actually, and wiry. Well, I guess my husband will soon discover that I wasn't joking when I told him years ago, that I refused to be a slave to a bottle of colour, and that when it was time for me to go grey, then I was going to roll with it

Oh, pretty! It's looks like it's a true steel grey in this picture, which come to think of it, I think is quite rare. I think I see more people with white than true grey. How does the white look?

Gray looks *fabulous* on some people who are only in their forties.

one grey hair in mid-30's wouldn't bother me. if i'm 40 before I have a head full I'll be doing pretty good. at least I'll have hair? female baldness runs in my family. :P

I hear you! I had a chemical cut when I was nineteen. My hair all fell out in clumps in the shower and I ended up wearing a hat for an entire semester until it grew back. Thankfully, it happened in university, and not in junior high or high school when the chances of someone ripping the hat off as a nasty prank would have been higher.

The good part was that I was forced to have short hair (once some grew back) for the first time in my life, and I discovered that it's actually a pretty good look for me.

I saw a woman with grey hair who looked great on the tube yesterday. She had black curly hair in a messy pony tail with lots of white hairs in the mix and it looked great.

Yes, the white hair I found had a different texture, too. Very strange.

I think the different texture thing is normal. I only pull out my white hair when it insists on sticking out like an antenna.
