It's not wrong, and your problem is perfectly understandable given the situation and the fact that many others struggle with the same things. Give things some time. If love is meant to be, then it will over come everything and win over petty differences. As far as changing the world, every little bit helps. It may be a drop in the bucket, but it all adds up in the end. Think of it this way. No single raindrop thinks it is reponsible for the flood, but the flood is the responsibility of each and every individual drop when added together.
