Been a while since I've updated. Kentucky was definitely a needed break. Flew out early on tues, but got to the airport too late to check in a bag (bye to my cold cream!). Honey, Buffalo Trace only makes bourbon. They don't make whiskey. :-) They actually look down on whiskey in those parts of Kentucky, they say whiskey isn't the real thing (it can only be called bourbon if they only use natural ingredients I believe).

The Blanton's top you got is definitely a keepsake. Those bottles retail for upwards of $50 for a good-sized bottle. Did they explain the letter behind the horse's back hoof? If you can find them all, a complete set spells "Blantons". Good reason to go back!

It sounds like you bought Rain vodka as well. Great stuff, and it's best served cold neat. Don't bother using it to mix with, it's better by itself.

Glad to hear you had a good time. What wines did you pick up?

From what they said at the distillery, it can only be called bourbon if it's aged in Kentucky. Technically, they can make the mash in Tennessee, etc but it HAS to be aged in Kentucky.

They did explain the letters on the corks. Hoping to eventually get the full set. As for the wimes, I got the Country Arbor, the Sweet Jessamine Rose, and the Honey Mead.
