The Manowar experience or how I spent one of my best birthdays
Yes, yesterday was the the Manowar gig I've been waiting for half an year now.
I bought tickets mostly because it was my birthday, so I wanted to make myself a nice gift. I went with a friend, Joanna, to buy them, and 1-2 months ago, Alex and Octav also bought tickets. Alex also came with his gf so here we were, 5 metalheads(now don't imagine us dressed in leather and with tatoos=)) ) meeting at 4:30 to go to the last day of BestFest. We got there at around 5 and sat at a table, under huge umbrelas, away from the extreme heat. My friends sang "Happy birthday" to me, which I really appreciated, made me feel happy. I immediatly spotted a hot, blonde guy, sitting 2 tables away from me. I looked at him but Alex and his gf were staying in front of me, so I couldn't see very well. Anyway at a point Octav, Alex and Ana went to do a "research" for the surroundings, and me and Joanna were left alone. I could see the guy very well now. I looked at him...nothing. After a while, again...still nothing. Then, after a while...when I looked at him again, he caught my looks and winked at me! ;)) I smiled and then looked away. Then I looked again at him and he smiled. Oh, what a smile...*__* And so on, a couple of more times, until I was dying of chuckles. Suddenly, he and his buddy got up from the table and came to us..."Can we sit??". <> I thought, looking like in those animes when one gets that tear above the head. Know what I mean? xD Anyway he sat down and he said "Hey, what's up?". English, heh? At first I didn't understand so I started talking in Romanian.=)) But then I got with English and he told me he was from...Turkey!!! AARRGHHH I flirted with a turkish dude!!! xD But he was damn hot...So we talked a little, and I found him cute, until he excused himself "I need to pee". I was like this:
wtf??? =)) His buddy excused him saying that they aren't very well with english. He came back and we talked a little more and I said that me and my friends were going to see a band performing at that point, Trooper(Romanian band). And that was it. xD I keep on chuckling whenever I remember, because I really had fun with this. I can't believe I actually managed to flirt succesfully, for the first time, without babling stupid things or anything. Aaa...I damned loved it! He really knew how to smile...;))
Anyway Trooper were cool, as usually. Best heavy metal band of Romania...some say. I'm indiferent. Then HolyHell started. I really liked them. The keyboardist reminded me of Tuomas in some way. They are at the same recordhouse(i think that's the name) with Manowar. They were cool, I liked them. The girl's voice was ok and I think they performed a good show. They also have a cover after Phantom of the Opera, featuring Eric Adams, who's the singer of Manowar, and I simply love their version. *__* Not better than NW's, but still awesome.
Then, Manowar came on stage...vrrruum loudest band ever. After 4 songs and a bit, a generator exploded. xD Just when the crowd was getting annoyed, after 15 mins of waiting, Joey, the bassplayer, came on stage and calmed us down with a nice speech. They continued with "Brothers of Metal", but after 5 seconds, the spare generator exploded. Oopps...Anyway after another 15 mins they continued and it was ok. Wow...Eric Adams really knows how to sing...He's got such a voice...and he can scream, hell yeah. Their songs are mostly about war and Gods from ancient times, but are cool anyway. There's so much energy on stage that you can't stand still. Then Joey spoke in Romanian, for about 10 minutes or so...I was like "....O_o woaaa!!!" I mean he spoke so well...for an american guy...it's as if I started speaking Chinese 10 mins...wooooow!!! Incredible. They also brought on stage 2 chicks, things that I disliked, and they didn't do any biss, but these "-" were compensated by "+". Being 1-2 m away from the stage, I really convinced myself that they are the loudest band ever. Hehe. I headbanged and jumped like never before, which is a something...xD
I got home at 12:30...Had a really great time. Yes, one of the best bdays ever...definetly.
