Just a quick note before I go to work. My sweetie apparently got up and drove to the hospital in the early hours of this morning because his indigestion had escalated to the point that he realized it wasn't indigestion ( Read more... )

*HUGS*

Your concern is very understandable, it's not a life threatening emergency, but it still came as a shock for him and for you! I wish your bf all the best and hope it's not too serious and that he'll gets better soon!

My best friend had to have her gallbladder removed a few years ago. She was only 21 then, and the docs were surpised that she suffered from gallstones already, but it was so severe that they had to operate. She's perfectly fine today, there are just a few things she cannot eat anymore because she'll get sick then, but she managed that quite well.

Thank you for the sweet thoughts, happypineapples and arlessiar!

I think I worried so much because the gall bladder has, apparently, everything to do with fat and cholesterol...and my father has had several strokes and had a couple of large aneurysms. I don't want my sweetie to go down the same path!

We both should eat better....so I have been doing a lot of research. Oddly, there is apparently a growing movement indicating that all this talk in the media of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (like veggie oil, margarine, etc) are not so good for you! Saturated fats (like butter, eggs, meat, etc) are suspected of being truly GOOD for you! All this talk of heart disease, etc, is - according to this theory - the fault of white SUGAR...not fat at all.
~~sigh~~
So much confusion...... I WILL TRIUMPH! I have Google to satisfy my mind, and LJ friends to satisfy my spirit!

I am sorry your sweetie is ill. At least he now knows WHY he has not been well. You at least have a path to follow now. I am sending good thoughts and hugs your way.
