My roommate failed one of her exams and says she doesn't know if she can stay in the program. If she doesn't... Well, we'll deal with it then, I guess. She'll deal with it. I'll just try and be supportive. But it's leaving me with a cold feeling inside, because my life arrangements will suddenly be in doubt.

you should definitely go to japan - even without the roommate going with you. it'll kinda suck not having a 'buddy' but you can't wait around for other people while life passes you by. a friend of mine has just left by herself for 3 MONTHS to live in Tanzania... hardcore and she was/is scared poop-less, but ya gotta do it girl. the roommate - um, she can get her own stuff together... you need to focus on your own stuff as you so clearly illustrated. cat - she's a cat - she'll survive (or be put to sleep). family - ya gotta love 'em - they're one of the only constants in life.
in other news, i got a dog sitter for cholster - so sweet! :)
