I KNEW us Finn/Kurt fans were jumping over those scenes/previews a bit too early because it turns out they didn't really mean much for those two in this episode. XD;; But all the complaints are correct: they're stuffing in too many songs into the show now that we're not getting the character interactions we're more interested over.
Okay, I find the whole Grilled Cheesus deal to be very cute with Finn but, just like everyone else pointed out, it's very weird and rude how Finn made only selfish wishes to the Cheesus and didn't pray for Burt before losing his faith. I mean, this makes a good lead-up to him singing "Losing My Religion" and channeling towards Kurt but, I dunno, this just makes me see Finn as more of a jerk and I never viewed him that way besides in "The Rhodes Not Taken" when he was deceiving Rachel to get her back to the glee club. :(
I still think Kurt's been a very bitter guy since season 2. Unless I'm just starting to mix up my images of Chris Colfer with Kurt Hummel because the former is such a sweet boy. Well, there's that and, uh, Kurt hasn't been fawning over Finn for a long time. I guess we can bring up those theories that Kurt really has given up on Finn, but this made me realize that I probably loved Kurt a lot because he was in love with Finn. :( I mean, despite the desperate measures he took sometimes, Kurt's such a sweet and nice boy when he's in love. It's kinda heart-breaking to not see that love in him anymore. (Ah, but judging from next episode preview, Kurt might get back up kicking and happy so let's see how that turns out)
Now that I've put aside my beef on the episode, the rest are random thoughts.
- Can't hide the fact that I was so happy to see Sam again. Ouch to his dislocated shoulder, though. That totally explains why he'll be joining Glee next week. >_>;;
- I BAWLED AT KURT'S "I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND". I already bawled at it once when they put up the song previews last week and I really loved Across the Universe's version of that song and Chris sang it the way I imagined it. BUT THE SEQUENCE FOR THIS SONG. THOSE FLASHBACKS. BWARGH. WAY TO GET ME TO CRY AGAIN.
- I thought Cory said in a talk show before that he had to sing backwards for Losing My Religion because they're gonna have a backwards sequence? Doesn't seem that way though. Unless editting was too hard so they canceled the idea? Poor Cory, having his effort not fruit. :(
- Finn feeling left out for being the last one to find out about Kurt's dad is quite the icing on the cake. :) But I really wanna see the Hummels and Hudsons together again someday. They never really touched much on what happened between them after Theatricality. BACK TO MY POINT IN THE VERY FIRST PARAGRAPH.
- No I don't really care about the religious concepts in this episode. Still, it's interesting to hear the pros and cons they said regarding religions.
I think that's all I can think of now. Gonna watch the episode again now, wheeeee!!
