Sometime in the future, you will hear a podcast that Sara and recorded about casual gaming.  In it we talk about Farmville, and Sara convinced me to play.  And even though she is my podcasting partner and dear friend, she is evil, evil, evil.  For I am blaming any lack of ( Read more... )

I'm level 53 on Farmville, plus I play about 9 other Facebook games regularly. Of course, I work at home editing podcasts and there's a lot of downtime waiting to export or upload and waiting on other people, so I have time. And of course, you could write your name on the dust on my furniture.

I only pay real money for one game (PackRat). I get annoyed by how many games restrict play based on how many friends you suck into your play, or put a real cash price on the really good stuff. But that's business. I just wish there were perks for long-term play to reward those of us who stick it out. Can't tell you how many games I've gotten bored with. Farmville seems to come up with new stuff just when I've decided to quit, so I stay.

The only thing that tempts me to get a Facebook acct ext_123801 April 17 2010, 16:46:41 UTC
The games are the only thing that tempt me to break down and start a Facebook page. Otherwise, I have no use for one. My husband started one and had fun catching up with old friends for about two weeks. Now he never looks at it, so I use it to try out games. I don't tell his friends that it is me playing, though :-).

I've tried Farmville, Mafia Wars, Cafe World, and a few others. The only one that has held my interest so far is Bejeweled Blitz. I think I would like PackRat, too, but none of ABM's friends play that.

Reading this post has made me want to go back on Facebook and try some of these games again!
