For the first time in a couple years

There is a show on that I'm going to be planning around. One of those shows that I'm going to adjust my plans around so as not to miss it. For a while, football was my only show is that respect.

Studio 60 is beautiful. I'm almost giddy with how much I love it, which sounds really dumb. I really like Sorkin's writing, but with both of his previous shows I was late getting into it. I'd never even been exposed to Sports Night until it was already off the air (which led to me owning the whole series on DVD) and I didn't get into The West Wing until probably well into the third or fourth season, mostly by getting sucked into it on Bravo back when I lived in the apartment and had cable.

The only thing I worry about now is that since I'm coming in at the beginning of this one, it won't make it, or it just won't live up to the first episode.

Steven Weber was good. I like him, and so I was a little dismayed that he got to play the weasel, but he makes a good weasel. I was much less displeased with Amanda Peet than I'd been fearing. She could actually be very good in this. She's got some strength on screen that I wasn't expecting.

And Danny and Matt? (Matt Perry and Bradley Whitford) Are fabulous. Verging on I can't even. Just the right amount of spacy and vulnerable and affection and. See? I can't even.

Also, the guy from Every Damn Commercial is apparently in it as a cast member. I was wondering when he was going to get some series work. (You know, the guy who gets picked by David Spade on from the Capital One commercials, the guy who rents a nice car for his 10 year class reunion from the Enterprise commercials, that guy.)

Alright, that was enough dorky TV girl joy. I now officially need TiVo, and I don't even have cable. That's just sad.
