I haven't posted in a while. Sorry about that - school was crazy busy this quarter and recently I've been dealing with some pretty serious family issues.
I need to talk about the Glee finale, though, because it was quite possibly the episode by which all other Glee episodes will be judged.
Normally, I don't mind being spoiled for Glee. But for the finale, I made an extra effort to avoid any and all spoilers because finales, especially for a show like Glee, are epic things that are 100x more awesome when you're genuinely shocked by the events that take place in them. My mother did not get the no spoilers memo and thus the one thing I knew was going to happen was that Sue would be a judge.
Journey was the best choice for their "medley" (which was in actuality three separate songs, but whatever). It told the story of the club from the beginning of the season to now. "Don't Stop Believin'" was where the show really started and the revamped version was a symbol of how far they've come since then.
Because of the family issues, I've been in a really fragile emotional state. It's pretty easy to make me cry right now. Glee made me cry several times, starting with the Glee club funeral. But when the kids sang "To Sir, With Love" I just couldn't take it. I was like, "Don't do it, Glee. I can't handle this emotionally right now." and then burst into tears.
Finally, I am glad that New Directions didn't win sectionals. The second Vocal Adrenaline bust out "Bohemian Rhapsody", it was over. That was an awe-inspiring performance and it was on a whole different level. New Directions just hasn't reached that level yet. I look forward to watching them work to reach that level next year, though.
P.S. One thing I am confused about is the timing of the competitions. This was only regionals, yet it took place at the end of the school year. What about state and nationals?
