Arent glow-in-the-dark stars or plastic thingus going to weigh your hat and head gear down? Maybe you can try painting stars cut out from foam sheets and sew them onto the costume bits to reduce some unnecessary weigh ^^?

glow in the dark stars are super super light. Used them for my Star Healer =D

If you cannot find a small drill, heat up a screwdriver and pierce it into the star. It works like piercing an ear hole , old school style with a heated needle =D
