What a shocker. :P

This quiz made me realize that I really do usually pronounce the "ou" in words like "about" and "mouth" different from the "ou" in "loud" and whatever the other word was. I say "loud" with an "ow" sound and "about" with more of a "ah-oo" sound. Blame all that Canadian television I watched on Nick as a kid. :P

I got the same thing. I didn't realize I said "roof" like it rhymed with "tough." I CAN say it the other way...but usually, I don't. It's like the "crik" thing.

I now wobble back and forth between "crik" and "creek," but usually I go for "crik" because I was raised by Portage Creek, which all of us locals called the "crik." I called it Portage Crik just this evening in fact.
