movie night

Yesterday was mostly spent plopped in front of the TV on an air mattress catching up on new releases. I watched Capote and Broken Flowers before calling it a night. Capote was amazingly beautiful and dreary. It has inspired me to reread Breakfast at Tiffany's and hopefully follow it up with In Cold Blood. I hate all those Jarmoosh films. Boring, and bad. I do like, however, one Werner Herzog when he tackles feature films. I also like you, and you boy, and your dogs, and wish to see you soon.

It seems as though I am in the minority, but I thought Broken Flowers was amazing. Jim Jarmusch is one of my favorite directors and I think he just keeps getting better. The way that man can film silence and nothingness is astonishing. So good at directing uncomfortable and realistic situations. Speaking of which, I want to see it again.
