All I can say is: Better a milk allergy than a chocolate allergy! :)

It's really only a problem when I eat or drink a lot of dairy product at once, and it's worse if it's high-fat content. For example, a bowl of ice cream or a whole-milk latte will make me unpleasantly congested, but it's still nothing I can't deal with once in a while. Cheese is totally fine, and yogurt isn't as bad as ice cream. I tested negative to milk (lactose) allergy as a child, and the doctor surmised that I'm actually allergic to something my body turns the milk into, so if the milk is already curdled it might not be the same. I haven't had a problem in many years, but it seems to be coming back. Confusing.

If yogurt and cheese are fine, maybe acidopholus(sp?) milk is too?

My friend Eden carries Lactade with her for times when she knows ice cream is on the menu, and it seems to work. I am not sure if it's for an allergy or lactose intolerance,,, will ask her.
