I remember a friend of mine consoling me when it looked like my mother was dying. My dads dead, I'm single,no kids. My friend ( with her two healthy parents,her husband and her two gorgeous kids) tried to tell me she knew how lonely I was,how sad I felt - the best she could do was compare my situation to how sad she felt when her mother in law died( a woman she knew for 5 years tops). She tried to make me feel better all she actually made me want to do was scream abuse at her and tell her to get back to me when she understood what it meant to lose someone.
So the best people to have round when grieving are people who knw what its like to go through what you're going through.
Think Callie would have an interesting take on it too, with George although clearly very different circumstances.
Its why cold heartless Cristina is amazing with people when they lose a parent(like she was with George "welcome to the dead Dads club" and with her patients child)

You're so exactly right. My mother died two years ago, this September, and it's so so fresh with me that I can't enjoy the holidays. I can barely talk to my brothers. Everyone takes it differently, which when talking to stranderinaber, reminded me that this could be a really interesting fic to write, knowing that Arizona can really understand Teddy.

I feel for you, though. Those times must have been very tough for you.

Wow, you knocked this one out really fast! I love it :D They have such a unique friendship and I really hope they explore it a bit more on the show now Teddy's lost Henry.

This is one of those fan fics that when you read it you would really like to see actually it become an episode on Grey's. To bad the G/A writer's don't read these awesome fan fics. Most of the fan fics out there would make pretty good episodes.

I, too, have a handful of friends that have gone through this type of experience and when I lost my wife (although not legally though since we could not marry) over five years ago they helped me get through the rough times.

So here's to Henry, you may be gone but if Arizona has her way in showing Teddy that you will never be forgotten.

Great fan fic by the way. Hope to read more in the future. Sure wish there was a way to show off these great talents to the G/A writer's.

Sorry to hear of your loss, but I'm super glad you were able to get through the pain with the help of your friends. It's wonderful to know that you were lucky enough to have such great friends surrounding you. :)

And thank you so much for your kind words. I really hope that Arizona is capable of being there for Teddy in the show. I have a feeling that she won't be able to lean on Owen, knowing he didn't tell her the truth about Henry right away. She doesn't really do much with anyone else, except Yang in the show and Yang was holding the instruments where Henry died.

I hope they really treat the storyline with respect and I do hope we get a scene like this with them together, after all, Arizona is an awesome friend. :)
