{Jui and Intetsu}
{Counter Restaurant Place Thingy}
{Rated PG}
Intetsu hadn’t spend alone time with his best friend in a while and was really excited to go to his favorite place, Tanpopo, with him. He had called him a head of time just to make sure he wasn’t busy and because he wanted to make sure they went on the day his favorite worker was there. He had a feeling he was developing a crush on the girl but he didn’t know how to approach her so maybe Jui could help. He was a cool guy so he had lots of ideas, right?
Looking at his watch he saw that there was a few more minutes before the time he’d asked Jui to meet up with him at. It was kind of funny to be meeting up at the same place they had first met each other.
Jui had nearly punched a wall when Intetsu had admitted that he wanted to go out for lunch- not that it was any fault of Intetsu's, but that was the worst situation he could possibly be in. He couldn't say he'd eaten before, because that was just rude.
...Oh, well. He'd just say he was nauseous. That was actually kind of true.
He arrived two minutes late, shivering lightly in his many many layers of clothing. It only took a second to spot Intetsu because he was so tall.
"Hey."
“Hi Jui,” he answered with a smile. He looked the boy up and down, seeing how he was shivering and decided they should go inside. He opened the door for his friend and went over the café to wait in line. His eyes wandered up the line to see the girl worker who always put butterflies in his stomach. Since he was so tall it wasn’t hard for the girl to spot him and give a small wave to him, which he returned nervously with a smile on his face.
He could feel his cheeks turning red as he looked down at the floor. He nearly had forgotten that Jui was there till he saw his feet. Looking up at his friend he asked, “How have you been?”
Jui watched Intetsu with a slightly amused expression, glancing in the direction he had been looking. A... girl? Did Intetsu have a crush?
How cute.
...Only not, because Jui really wasn't in the mood to find anything cute.
"I've been good." He sighed. "Let's get in line, hm?"
“Okay,” he answered moving to get in line. He stood there trying to fix his hair in a way he liked it feeing very nervous to be in line. The boy needed a topic to keep them entertained while in the line so he thought of the first thing that came to mind.
“I’ve been watching your drama Jui. It’s so cool seeing you on TV.” He smiled at the other, glad that his career was doing so well.
"Oh. Thank you." Jui felt dizzy, hoped to God the line moved fast. "I only have a small part in that one..."
Though, Intetsu was right. It was cool to see himself on TV, even if he looked fatter than he did in real life.
"But it's still fun."
He forced a smile.
The line moved quickly and Intetsu nervously ordered his meal before moving out of the way to let his friend order. His eyes kept going from his friend, to the girl, to the menu and back to the girl over and over again. Once they got their food Intetsu would really be asking his best friend for advice.
Jui got nothing except a water bottle, never did. Hopefully it would help to clear his head a little bit, because it felt as if it were filled with static, making it a little hard to see. Dots in the air.
Again.
But he wouldn't faint, not there. He took a long sip of water, paying virtually no attention to Intetsu- or where he was.
“You feelin’ okay Jui,” he asked his friend once he got his order. The boy looked really out of it and he was feeling guilty for asking his friend to hang out. With the boy’s busy schedule of photo shoots, dramas and who knows what, he was probably dead tired on his days off. Maybe they should reschedule….
"I'm fine." Hopefully Intetsu's food would come soon so they could sit down, because Jui was seriously tired of standing. Maybe he needed to go home, but... he didn't want to look weak in front of Intetsu.
"So, uh... how's life?" Another sip of water and he was feeling slightly better. He could see properly, at least.
“Okay I guess,” he said with a shrug. School was dull as usual and he was working more and more on finding ways to stay out later so he wouldn’t have to go home. His parents were currently not talking to each other and using him as the middle man. He hated it but he was having a hard time going against their wishes.
Once his food arrived he took his tray and went to find a table to sit at. A satisfied sigh crossed his face when he looked down at his food. It was best to put his mind on other things.
"That's good." Jui was all too excited to sit down, feeling all of his energy slip out of him in an instant. He really wanted to put his head down, but he resisted, instead pulling his knees up and taking another long sip of water.
....God, his head hurt.
"Enjoying school?" He himself hadn't gone in a few days, was starting to wonder why he was still enrolled.
A small frown crossed the boys face as he sipped his drink. He was doing fine in his classes but didn’t have anyone to talk to aside from Mao. He really wished he had more friends. To answer the question the boy shrugged his shoulders and shook his head a little. He couldn’t wait till he graduated.
”Jui can I ask you for advice?”
"Hm?" Oh, god- did this mean he was gonna have to think? "Uh... yeah, sure, go ahead." Whatever it was, if he didn't have an answer, he could bullshit one.
...Probably.
He was finding it a little hard to speak.
“How can I be cool like you so I can talk to girls…?” He looked down at his cake on his plate not wanting to look the other in the eyes. Even in his mind the question seemed silly but aside from probably the Red Ranger or one of his other favorite super heros, Jui was probably the coolest person he knew. He didn’t want to ask his father about it because looking at what was wrong in their household he felt his father wouldn’t give the best advice.
Oh, god. Jui had known this was coming, but he had hoped to not be on the verge of passing out when he tried to explain this to Intetsu. Right now, he couldn't even think of anything to say, so he just waited for a moment before the first thing that came to mind slipped out of his mouth.
"You just have to talk to them." A shrug. "If you're confident then you'll be hot."
God, that was such bullshit, but people said it on TV all the time, so he figured it at least sounded good.
“I…okay,” he answered still wondering how he was actually going to get the courage to talk to the girl. Maybe he would go home and watch some of his favorite action shows to gain the courage they had. He gave his friend a small smile before taking a bite out of his cake.
“Thanks Jui. I’ll try.”
Jui nodded, which only made him that much dizzier, a little more nauseous. Intetsu's head was spinning in front of him- fuck, the entire room was spinning, getting speckled, getting black as he closed his eyes and slowly fell foward, face hitting the table.
...Well, fuck.
The last thing he noticed before going unconscious was that Intetsu's restaurant of choice appeared to be about 20 degrees colder than it had been when they walked in.
Intetsu dropped his fork from his hand as his jaw dropped, staring at the other. What just happened here? Did he just die?
”J-j-jui…?” he stammered as he moved to shake the boy a little. The tears were building in his eyes as he stood from his seat to go to the other’s side and see if he was still breathing. He didn’t know what he would do if his friend just died on him like that. His hand quickly reached in his pocket for his phone as he began dialing for help.
It took Jui a few seconds to regain consciousness, still incredibly dizzy. He had know idea where the fuck he was for a frighteningly long moment until he managed to turn his head and look at...
....
...
Intetsu.
Oh yeah.
Sigh. He closed his eyes again, feeling increasingly uncomfortable with them open.
“Jui I…” he tried to say as he knelt there shaking and closing his phone. He was glad the other was alive but he also felt like this was completely his fault. He looked around at the people in the café who were staring at him crying like a wuss. Sniffling a little he opened his phone again to call his father to pick them up. This was a bad idea.
”I’m sorry Jui. I’ll give you a ride home okay? I didn’t know you weren’t feeling well.” He could feel himself crying again as he tried to fight against it when his father answered the phone. He had to sound like a big boy in front of him even if he still felt like a child.
...Was he actually crying? Jui could hear it in his voice, but he had no idea what to think. Who honestly cared that much?
He sighed, opening his eyes to look at Intetsu again. He was still out of focus, but he figured he might as well be nice. The poor kid was crying, after all.
"I'm okay, Intetsu." His voice sounded pretty fucked up, but there wasn't much that could be done about that. "It happens sometimes."
Hanging up his phone the boy shook his head and wiped his eyes. He felt like the worse friend ever even if Jui said it happened sometimes. His friends were the closest people to him right now and he didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize their relationship like he thought he had done with his parents.
“My father’s gonna be here in a few minutes. I umm..I’m gonna ask for a box for this. I’ll be right back.” His voice was still a little cracked but there were no more tears. He grabbed his plate and went back to the counter were the girl he was crushing over was giving him a worried look. Maybe he could muster up a little courage to not be completely nervous around her.
If Jui had it in him to feel guilty, he probably would have- but why? He'd done nothing wrong. He was sick, couldn't see straight... but still, Intetsu was fucking crying.
Why why why did he have to be such a baby? This wasn't that big a fucking deal. Oh, well.
He finally forced himself to sit up and seriously wished he hadn't. The room appeared to be flipping itself upside down. God. Thank god he didn't have work so he could lay around for the rest of the day until everyone went to sleep and he could eat.
Once his food was ready to go, Teppi walked back to the table and put his drink in the bag with his food. He could already see his father’s car pulling up to the shop. He turned to his friend, giving a small smile to try to make the moment a little less awkward as he went to his side and offered out a hand. He wasn’t sure if Jui would need help going to the car or not but at least he offered.
Jui took the hand, suddenly feeling incredibly embarassed. He hated being weak so, so much- and he knew this was his fault, knew he shouldn't go out on days like this.
So why had he?
To avoid upsetting Intetsu?
Fuck, he wasn't supposed to care.
He stood and stumbled before leaning on his friend, glad that he was so tall for once.
Intetsu walked slowly to his father’s car, making sure Jui wouldn’t have anymore fainting episodes to scare the living day lights out of him. He helped his friend into the car and sat in the backseat with him because he didn’t feel comfortable around his father and he wanted to make sure Jui was okay.
“Next time you don’t feel well just cancel with me okay?” He was starting to wonder why the other didn’t tell him he didn’t feel like going out. Was their friendship that important that he didn’t want to cancel?
Jui covered his eyes, feeling much better if he wasn't looking at anything. Oh, if only Intetsu knew that he pretty much never felt well. Some days were just worse than others.
"I will."
Or not.
He usually managed not to faint, so today was a little annoying, but... well, it had been bound to happen eventually.
“Good.” He nodded his head a little before he was reaching in his bag to pull out his drink to sip. He glanced over at his friend who had his eyes covered and wondered just what was wrong with him. Maybe they needed to go to the hospital instead..? He just kept his mouth shut until they pulled up to his famous friend’s house.
”Do you want help getting to the door?”
"I think I can make it." Maybe. Either way, he didn't want Intetsu helping him around anymore. "I'll see you later."
He opened the door and slowly tripped up the lawn, feeling slightly more ashamed of himself as he stumbled inside and fell against the front door as soon as he closed it, closing his eyes again. He'd move in a minute. ...Probably.
...God, what a disaster he was turning into.
