With the exception of a few I've never seen a more miserable, pathetic example of parenting that was presented over this weekend. Many weren't deserving of the title of "parent" and I'm utterly repulsed by their behavior.

[However, some of your moms are very, very hot.] I'm grateful for the ones that seemed to gather the ( Read more... )

Yeah, I agree.

At least their children seemed to recognize they were in unfortunate circumstances. It would have been more of a pity if they were accepting of that treatment.

I assume even with the two brothers remaining you've more than your fair share. [He does not know of the reasons for concern, but if he did he would know Brax was in his Brax-y way.] Some didn't entirely meet with disapproval. Some were completely offensive.

I believe we had a game to play.

I am. [And learning geography via game will help distract him from missing his wives and family.] I'll be there shortly.

[One day he will come in smelling like catnip and it will be the end of him.]

Have you considered that maybe you're not getting the full story from the two days the parents were here?

I have, but many made a gross display of their purposeful neglect and arrogance. Discipline a child, yes. Belittle and demean your future? That's offensive.

Might not be any of your damn business to be commenting on.

I'm entitled to my opinion and you're entitled to ignore it if you would rather. I did wait until they were gone to say so, and I only had a conflict with one parent whose daughter I have a specific interest in.

That's better than most alternatives, I suppose.

I spoke with your mother. She was interesting. [Pretty, but kind of hard on you.]

[That's how everyone is in my life :c]

Yeah, I saw. That's just how we talk to each other.

Oh. [A hint of pleasant surprise in his voice.] That's a relief in comparison to some of the other parents I observed.

[Your mom? Really hot.] I did observe a marked resemblance.

[...Wait...]

I suppose it's only to be expected.

I suppose. Right now I appreciate the emphasis my people place on parenting more than ever. I grew up on a Nietzschean colony, as well, so this is...

[Appalling. It's appalling. :\ And even humans parented better in his day.]

[ Pause. ]

I won't say that there isn't an emphasis, but simply that- [ when he speaks, his voice is bone dry: ] many parents are selfish.

[ It's partly why he had been picking fights with parents here. There is simply no excuse for purposefully hurting your child (unless there is a good reason, and Bruce always has a good reason), and if it's by accident- calling the parent out on it is the best solution. ]

I will never deny being selfish. [Lawl. Egoist.] But my children are my future. My children are everyone's future and- [Oh yeah, he's not seeing his children again. Moving on!]

Even if genetics aren't a matter, they carry on some element of your ideals and your influence. Why would anyone want to reject something so significant, so wonderful that it can give you love and permanence?

[Now that it's all over, he's just feeling disappointed.]
