I did something stupid this morning. Running at first light, I tripped over a kerb (because I thought the cut-away was wider than it actually was) and landed on first my knees and then my hands, mainly the right hand. Both knees were skinned, as well as the outer base of my right hand. My left hand has a very minor scrape and a bit of loose skin at ( Read more... )

It wasn't stupid...it was an accident. I hope your knees don't stiffen up for long. Some years ago I had a fall like that and my knees really hurt for a while.
We have the same temperatures as you did! 25 here today as well.

There are a few stiff places but my knees feel less stiff and I'm basically fine today.

I hope that you haven't really hurt yourself. You can stop watching for a second these days.

No, I'm fine apart from some residual stiffness here and there. I agree that you have to be on guard all the time for tripping hazards.

Bah, sorry about the accident. You can't be on high alert all the time. Things happen. I hope your knees recover quickly.

Getting older is a bitch. I have calluses on my knees for kneeling down all the time when packing and renovating. So much so that it hurts to kneel now. Plus all the joints are aching. It just takes so much longer to heal than it used to. *sigh*

I definitely agree about getting older. My brain still thinks I'm 30 but my body says otherwise.

I'm so sorry! I hope you heal quickly and you'll be back to your regular routine soon! Ever since my mom broke her hip, I notice how many tripping hazards there are EVERYWHERE.

Yes, I generally notice tripping hazards but of course accidents happen when you lose concentration for a second. I'm basically fine today apart from some residual stiffness. I feel so lucky that I didn't break anything.

Oh, that is miserable! If your knees are bruised, trying cold packs on them. It will help. I really hope the pain goes away quickly.

Yeast bread sounds good.

We're probably going to get some bands of hard rain soon once that hurricane leaves Cuba. I'm just hoping it doesn't decide to come to Florida. I'm really done with hurricanes for the year.
