I was checking my bank accounts this morning as I do every couple of days, and found an unexpected charge of $127.20 to one of the accounts. Turns out it was a charge to S's debit card (with an expiry date of September 2024 - how did the charge go through?) for a renewal of her digital subscription to the Washington Post. I haven't watched anything in terms of tv series in ages. (Baseball has ruined me!) But I'd like to see BRILLIANT MINDS. That looks interesting, so at some point I will try it.

The Washington Post is the worst about auto-renewal. They will try to renew no matter what. I've cancelled them now.

The Mothers of Penguins sounds interesting.

I'm with you on the not shopping around the holidays. It's just a damn nightmare.

Once I got into S's WaPo account it was easy enough to cancel. I just hope it stays cancelled.

That is weird the charge went through on an expired card. If I have a card on file somewhere I'll get a notice it was declined.
