"Even without being allied with your country, you gave me what I wanted," he said in an uninterested manner, "So I hardly see why forming an alliance with Suna would be beneficial, unless you're keeping some sort of military secret from me, which would be surprising."

Temari was a woman that he was not particularly worried about. Her country was weak and fairly isolated. Suna's military hardly stood a chance against Konoha's, so even if they did strike up an alliance, it would hardly do him any good.

"Or is there some other reason you've come here?" He smirked. Surely, by now, she had realized she had lost someting. She had probably come to Konoha in hopes of striking some sort of deal with him...

"But appearances are everything," she retorted, not liking at all the terrible start this was getting off to. Suna had nothing that Konoha could not simply take, she knew that, and her words veiled an attempt at pleading for her peoples safety. "Certainly it would be bad for politics to be so hypocritical. "I have my reasons for placing guards where I place them," he said, fixing her with a hard stare, "As for creating an alliance with you, give me one good reason why I should even consider such a thing."

Temari did not strike him as a threat. If she tried anything against him, she could be easily taken care of.

"Only one?" she feigned a pout, staring back. He was being difficult, and despite the sinking feeling still present, she was starting to get slightly annoyed. "Fine then. I can get you information. I know you don't do things for absolutely no reason, so this inn must be of some concern."

She was treading on thin ice, as she was certain that he wouldn't hold back from using...alternate methods of extracting information. She could only hope for some odd show of benevolence, or at least to pique his curiosity long enough to explain her plan of action.
