I found this article on ANN: Mayu Shinjo: "I Don't Think I'll Ever Write Shojo Manga Again"... and I´m really looking forward to seeing her first BL manga. I really love(d) her shoujo manga she writes/wrote - lotsa smutty ones but also cute ones like Ai ore! or Ai o Utau Yori Ore ni Oborero! which had also some crossdressing and slashy character

I just found out last week about her first BL - bumped into it on her twitter account. I immediately ordered it - I just have to see how it turns out. Just like you, I loved her smut shoujo stories - my fav was Akuma no Eros. Her guys are real hunks, I bet her semes will be super hot.

I kind of like it when establised shoujo/josei mangakas like Aiba Kyouko, Monden Akiko visit the 'dark side'. :P

Thanks for the link - I did not know that she plans to quit the shoujo world for good. (In brackets - I never liked her helpless, whining heroines, they annoyed me. Seems like her dislike towards her own girls showed. XD)

But her guys are really hot and she can write quite steamy smut too, so I´m sure she´ll be a mangificent addition to the "dark side".

btw. ...I like the heroins in Yoshihara Yuki´s and Osakabe Mashin books more (respectively Shinju´s former "sensei" and assistant)...

Yep, Yoshihara's I also like - probably my fav josei manga is from her, it's called Itadakimasu.

I don't know Osakabe - any titles you suggest?

Hmmm, there aren´t that many OM´s books scanlated out there or they were done half way... But Yokubou to koi no meguri or Gekka Mugentan are probably the ones with the best scanlation progress. But be warned, OM art takes a bit to get used to and her stories usually include pushy violent men. The girls are sometimes stupid, but not to the airhead level of Shinjo´s heroines.

From the shoujo mangakas I´ve read I would also recommend Ayano Saijo (Kareshi wa doberman, Mamotte Agemasu), Oumi Toumu (Midnight secretary or Anatani ha wo sasagemashou), Tomomi Nagae is also good (Ikenai Candy love, It´s not like that darling), so is Maki Enjouji (Hapi Mari, Yoru Cafe, Atashi wa Sore wo Gaman Dekinai) or Nishikata Mai (Lip smoke, Cyboy or Hana no kishi).

I was surprised too. Actually, I was more surprised that she decided not to write shoujo anymore and said that she didn´t like her female characters.

Oh wow! This is such good news...and surprising too! She was one of the reasons why I got into smutty shojo in the first place (never went back to shoujo after I get to know BL though...). I loved her works so much! Especially Akuma na Eros...the main guy was just so freaking HOT *fans*
I really can't wait to see what her BL manga is like :)

Haha, I think there are more of us like that. She has the smutty part down to a fine art, the guys are smoking hot (perfect seme) so she just needs to switch her dumb heroine into a (dumb?) uke.
