Welcome 2010! I haven’t posted for some time now, but it is not for lack of things going on. Morgan and I started off the year in New Orleans visiting with my brother and overall having a blast bringing in the new year. Food Entry
I have instituted “Omelette Sundays” at our house to learn how to make a consistently decent looking tri-fold omelette. Yesterday was the inaugural event, and I made 2 omelettes. Practical City Magic
Been meaning to post a link to this powerpoint, entitled The Demon-Haunted World for a while....lots of great discussion on technology and the city, psychogeography, etc. I really like the idea of following inanimate objects on Twitter (i.e. making the invisible world visible). Standard Operating Procedure
I sat down to watch Errol Morris’ latest documentary, Standard Operating Procedure, without realizing what would be in store for me. I know that Errol Morris is a master of narrative, and I knew that the subject matter would be Abu Ghraib. The effect of the film, however, was more than I bargained for. I just bought tickets to see This American Life Live! on April 23rd. It's playing all across the country on this day (with an encore on May 7th), and the website has a listing of all participating theaters. From the website:

Black Bean Burgers
Last weekend a vegetarian friend of mine was town visiting, and I decided to try making black bean burgers from scratch for the gill. The biggest issue with black bean burgers is in making them stick together. I mostly resolved this by wrapping the burgers in foil (with cooking spray) and storing them in the freezer for a couple of hours. The end ( Read more... ) -

Wow, it's hard to believe I haven't updated this journal for so long. I've thought about it a number of times, but something has always stopped me from updating.
