Here are some quick scores of films I've seen over the past two or three days. Expect a full review for one or two and a feature type thing on Kicking and Screaming, which, after this second viewing, is becoming one of my favorite films ( Read more... )

Let mee start by saying I/m pumped you're back into flicks.

Second, Four Brothers is Bad Ass, espcially when that dude gets clocked with a brick to the dome.

Third, what's the whole scale of letters? A + to like F? is E in there? Because i always used to be pissed there was no E in the letter scale.

Fourth, I/m disspointed you didn/t like Little Children more. I was really looking forward to it.

Fifth, I/ve decided to start typing like Hubert Selby Jr with the slashes instead of apostrophies, it/s just sweeter.

=k=

Yeah, I think it's everything but E. Which is weird.

As for Little Children, I feel like it's very well directed and very interesting, but it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. It's a fascinating look at the 21st century human condition, but it's very off-putting and almost American Beauty-lite or something.

I altered my Kicking and Screaming score and added Brazil, which was gnarly. It's basically 1984 on acid envisioned by Terry Gilliam.

Oh and the slashes are sweet, but Selby Jr. is so tough to read.

Love Brazil. I've been jerking off to Gilliam for years.

As for Selby Jr. I just finished reading his novel 'The Room' and you know that scene in 'Waking Life' when the dude is in the jail and it's all read and he's talking about 'that Apache shit' and burning people's eyes with cigars and stuff? That's taken directly from 'the Room' which i thought was kind of cool.

Yeah. I finally saw Fear and Loathing too. I laughed a couple times, but more or less, I thought it was drivel. To each his own, I guess.

And that's sweet about 'The Room.'
