When Ryan got back to the hotel, he heard Brendon playing his keyboard and singing. His voice was the rock angels; powerful, conceiving and beautiful. As he walked closer to Brendon, the playing slowed down until his head fully turned around to look at his drenched best friend standing a few feet behind him.

“Rain,” was all Ryan could say. Brendon, who was attentive, was now frowning as he saw drips of acid water dripping down to the floor. In agony, Ryan took one last look at his friend and turned away, walking to the bathroom for a shower. Brendon sighed silently as he got up from his childhood instrument and walked to his bed. He wondered where Ryan was coming from; maybe hanging out outside to clear his head or walking around Los Angeles for inspiration for new lyrics. Brendon stared out the window and heard the door lock click and footsteps filled the room. Ryan walked in front of him, making Brendon come back to reality. He turned his head from the window and looked up, waiting for a conversation to start.

“Hey,” Ryan said.

“Hi,” Brendon replied back drowsily. Ryan half smiled and looked out the window, seeing the rain stopped and sighed with frustration.

“I…I’m really sorry that ran out earlier.”

“It’s fine. I was worried about you though. I know how touring and writing is stressful for you.”

“And I’m trying my hardest to deal with it. It’s so hard.” Ryan frowned and looked at Brendon’s figure.

“Yeah,” Brendon said quietly as he laid back further onto the bed, getting comfortable. Ryan looked hesitant then had the question in his eyes, wanting to ask to share beds with each other like they do every night.

“Can--”

“Come here. You must be exhausted.” Ryan nodded and walked towards the bed and got in between the sheets that were placed on Brendon’s body. As Ryan slid under the covers, he felt silky skin and sensed Brendon’s face blushing.

“I’ll never forget what this feels like.”

“I’m just so happy that we’re not sleeping on the bus tonight.”

“I agree.”

There was a long but cheerful silence as Brendon smiled and later realized that his lips were just inches away from Ryan’s.

“Zack is gonna--” Ryan got interrupted by Brendon as he placed his hand on Ryan’s cheek and softly kisses his lips. He blinked and gave Brendon a confusing look. “What was that for?”

“Ehh, forget it. Just forget that I did that.”

The older boy’s head shook, smiled and locked his lips with his again. “Don’t say that.”

“Why?”

“Because I knew that you were going to do it first.”

“Why does that matter?”

“You’re Brendon Urie. You’re too amazing for words.”

“Okay, so…”

Brendon smirked up at Ryan and gave him one of his shining sun smiles. He did it better than anyone else in the band and Ryan was lucky to share a hotel room whenever the four boys needed to. Maybe he was too lucky and noticed that whenever he looked into those chocolate eyes, he immediately felt like he was home. No matter where he was, Brendon was always by his side, a little bit too much, but he never disliked that radiant glow and warmth that he got.

“You make me so confused,” Brendon said quietly.

“What’s on your mind then?”

“I like you… A lot and it hasn’t changed ever since I met you.”

“Oh.”

“That’s why I kissed you.”

“Yeah…”

“Can you talk, like without giving me those one word replies?”

“This whole thing seems silly.”

Brendon blinked slowly and knew that kissing Ryan was a bad thing to do. He got up, grabbed the pillow from the bed and found himself on the floor.

“If it’s silly, you could sleep in the tiny bunk on the goddamn bus. We have a show tomorrow and I don’t want my head to hang off of my head,” he groaned to himself as he rolled over to his side, his back facing the bed.

“No, I meant the slight argument that we’re having. We never have them.”

“Ryan, just shut up. Night.”

“I don’t want to go to sleep when we’re feuding against each other.”

Brendon rolled over on his back to let out a big sigh. He looked at Ryan, who was leaning over the bed looking directly at him and Ryan looked uncertain and scared in someway. They looked at the face in front of them as the gazes turned into stares.

“I’m glad that you kissed me,” Ryan finally whispered.

“How come?”

“Because I feel the same way as you do. I was just too… Scared of it all.”

“Ry, you can’t pick of who you want to love. It just has to find its own destiny.”

“I know.”

“Well, I found mine.” Brendon tried to smile as he sat up, grabbed his pillow and looked at Ryan for another time.

“Our destiny can be the same, Bren.”

Brendon’s heart fluttered and warm chills raged through his veins. He wasn’t quite sure of how the whole night turned from apologetic, to happy, to romantic to arguing and making sure that they were trying to put all of that back into what they were in the beginning; best friends. But he froze when Ryan held his wrist and tried to pull him down on the bed again.

“I don’t want you to sleep on the floor. You never should do it, and I’ll make sure you don’t,” Ryan’s voice scratched as he began to pull his best friend into a hug.

“So what do we do now?”

“I’m sure you want this to work.”

“I do, ever since we got to know each other. And to be honest, you won’t have a rocky relationship.”

“-Than of what I had with Keltie?” Brendon nodded as Ryan got deep into thought. “Yeah, you’re right. We’ll always be together.”

“So we’ll start dating, tell Jon and Spencer but don’t tell the fans?”

“Yes Brendon, what do you think this is?” Ryan smiled widely and laughed.

“I wanted it to be the Chocolate Factory. Oh! Or the Cheesecake Factory! Ryan we should get some! Please?!”

“It’s almost one in the morning, so no. Tomorrow when you wake up, I promise you can pig out. You need your rest.”

“I love you Ryan. I’m sure we’ll be alright.”

“Maybe a little bit more than alright in the Love Factory,” Ryan replied as he closed his eyes and smiled. Brendon jumped on the bed like a little kid and became overexcited for the relationship and the sugar upcoming sugar rush. “Bren stop! Listen, you can wake me up when you do and we can sneak out of the hotel and you can eat whatever you want. I love you too.” At the moment, Ryan wrapped arms around the vocalist and slowly pulled the covers up towards their chests.

Before the two pairs of eyes finally closed for sleep, the two pairs of lips locked again. It felt like the metamorphosis of a flower blooming fiercely and the raindrops falling on the petals. It was for their amazing lives, the junk food breakfast meal and the upcoming beautiful love they will share together.
