I can never recommend the Dresden Files book series enough. They're written by Jim Butcher and are superb. (Usually they come out in April, but we got word last week that this year it wouldn't come out until July because he needed more time to write a good story instead of giving us something half-assed). The titles go:

Storm Front
Fool Moon
Grave Peril
Summer Knight
Death Masks
Blood Rites
Dead Beat
Proven Guilty
White Night
Small Favor
Turn Coat
Changes
Ghost Story* (this is the one that got pushed back)

There's also a collection of short stories Jim wrote especially for different anthologies and such that is very good, called "Side Jobs."

I've traded a lot of books in the past on swap.com.

On the Random and Not-So-Random Acts of BookCrossing Kindness forum, people will trade books or even send books for free (so long as you are a member of the community and leave them a message when you receive the book). I've received (and sent) many books this way.

As far as buying books online, I recommend allbookstores.com to compare prices to make sure you are getting the best deal available. Betterworldbooks.com has a good deal if you buy books from their bargain bin section. And retailmenot.com is the best way to find coupons for online bookstores. For example, Alibris.com has a $1 off coupon code that never expires.
