When I got into the kitchen, I closed the door behind me and looked around. There were things that we were going to need and I was going to need blood and she was going to need food. I think maybe we should bring a bed down here, into the kitchen, or move things into the basement. It shouldn't take me long to bring down a bed and a chair and ... I ( Read more... )

"That should do it." I smiled at him as I set down the book, the chips and a few other things I'd need on the bed in the middle of the room. One bed....I swallowed hard. That was okay, we could just take turns or something and did Angel even sleep ever anyway? I mean, Spike used to sleep all the time but maybe they were different. Angel was older maybe that made a difference. I made a mental note to look into it if I managed to survive the next week ( ... )

It looked like we had everything we needed and if we needed anything else, she probably would have told me between telling me to go and get some blood. I wanted to decide against it because I didn’t want her to see that part of me, but the thing was, was that that was who I was … a vampire. Well, there was that Shanshu thing, but I didn’t think it was going to come in handy anytime soon so … I should go and get the blood. I’d drink it when she was sleeping. Something like that ( ... )

Angel finally came back and by the time he did I had everything set up. One barrier spell to keep nasty ubervamps and bringers out coming right up. As soon as Angel sat down I started saying the words in latin hoping to God they were the right ones. Or else I was going to accidentally set the whole place on fire.

A bright light burned through the building, specifically around this room for a second. It was like a giant hulahoop had settled around the two of us and after a minute it faded into nothing.

"Okay. The spell should be up but the only way to know is to test it." I looked at him because he had to test it. I was human...at least I think I was so I should be able to walk right through it and it wouldn't even make a difference. Angel should get thrown back along with a nasty little sting if he tried to cross the boundries.

I gave her a look, that wasn’t amusing when she said that I had to test it out. Well, not me, but someone. Which that someone would be me, of course because I was the demon and she was the human. With a sigh, I sat there on the bed and looked around the room where the barrier showed it’s spot a few minutes ago. I had to brace myself because I had a feeling it would hurt for a moment.

Getting up from the bed, I started walking toward where the barrier was and before I knew it, I was flown back and my whole body stung all over and my head pounded from where it hit the wall hard. I had landed on the ground, almost tipping over the nightstand as I fell. Leaning back against the wall, I glanced at Dawn and rubbed my forehead.

“It works.”

Getting up, I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked around the room and away from the barrier until finally I sat down on the bed. Wasn’t much else to do but … well, wait.

The only thing that would kill the uber vamps was sunlight, only problem? It'd kill me too. Which means that Dawn would be left alone and ... well, at least she wouldn't be gone. I knew she was immortal to a certain extent, but we didn't know what that extent was and I wasn't going to find out. Besides, I don't want anything to happen to her. Ever. I couldn't take it for one and second ... Buffy couldn't take it. I didn't want her to go through that ( ... )

I could sleep for however long I wanted after this was all over. Did he have any idea how long I'd been listening to that line for? Probably since the first day a new potential arrived in Sunnydale. Since we found out what was going on with the First Evil. I was tired! And not just from the events of the night, but from the way things had been for the last few weeks. I couldn't help it! It was hard to concentrate like this ( ... )

Okay, so ... that wasn't going to work and when she told me for the second time that they wouldn't get in, I finally stopped trying. I was just ... worried. I couldn't help it, I already let her die ... once. Well, not let her, but yeah, and now there were vamps outside of our door and who kenw when the barrier wasn't going to work anymore. She did look tired. Bags under her eyes were evident and finally, I just closed the book and laid it next to us while she got comfortable ( ... )
