i'm the new college worship leader at my church.  i guess the way to get a leadership position is to make sure you tell people you don't have a heart for worship, openly criticize christianity, and routinely consider leaving the church.

i'm not sure how i feel about this.

I THINK GOD IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING.
LISTEN TO HIM.
DO IT.

I don't know, I'm not God, and this is not my situation.
Surely this has to be some kind of sign, dude.
or at least a way for you to change things in the way that you want them to be done.

oh i guess that makes sense about changing things. me taking over as the worship leader is part of a larger movement where college students are taking more control over the college service, so i'm optimistic about things changing soon. i'm doubtful because i know i got the job just because i can sing, and i feel weird about being THE GUY when i'm not really into group worship. being in the band wasn't too big a deal because i could just do my thing, but even though i'm not into the traditional church stuff, i feel like the worship leader should at least be into worship. i don't view the worship band as different from any other band performance -- playing music while other people get into it.

whatev, maybe this will change my opinion and finally teach me what group worship is.
