Personality: Of the Seven Stakes of Purgatory, Belphe is the fourth, making her the middle child. Unlike her sisters, who tend to embody aspects of their sin, Belphegor sets herself apart by being unusually hardworking despite representing Sloth. While, at face value, it may seem strange, there is a method to her madness. Unlike such sins as Envy, Wrath, and Pride, which run rampant in nearly every human, the conditions for sloth must be created by removing the need for those around her to do anything at all. For this reason, Belphegor attempts to take control of and become the sole worker/provider for those around her in any situation she is placed in.
The other stakes often tease Belphe for her stern nature and accuse her of being a killjoy, but she is firmly of the belief that the path to victory is paved with hard work. She does not begrudge her sisters in their method of doing things, as long as she, likewise, is left to tend to her duties as she sees fit. There are times, even, that one of them may approach her in confidence to ask her advice as she is the most sensible of the seven.
She is loyal to Beatrice The Golden (whomever may hold the title at the time) without question and will uphold what is expected of her. Her job has included being summoned to end the lives of humans that Beatrice has judged to be guilty of Sloth on more than one occasion, but she does not need to be ordered to kill to act. If she deems something to be a threat to her Master or someone in her Master's favor, she will not think twice about striking. She does, however, prefer victims of the calm and cool-headed sort as, to her, they are much more delicious prey.
Despite her ways of approaching her work, Belphe is not the collected ice wall she often appears. When in the company of the other stakes, especially, she is prone to falling into whatever emotion is sweeping the rest of the group and can be found cowering in fear in the face of being denied, or happily kyaaing and cuddling up to Sakutaro.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ A Hard and Dedicated Worker - Belphegor takes her tasks in utmost seriousness, especially if it's an order handed down to her by her superiors. She will complete it swiftly, skillfully, and (preferably) without anyone else's assistance.
+ / - Self-sacrificing - Both a strength and a weakness. She will do anything within her means for her master, up to and including laying down her life to protect her. While noble, her lack of self preservation does her no favors.
+ Patience - When allowed to operate on her own and not caught up in the collective girlsquee of her sisters, Belphe is hard to fluster. When faced with a difficult job or people, she will remain persistent and collected
- Softspoken - While she's rather good at being that small, deviously-soothing voice assuring you that resting just a little longer is perfectly fine, Belphe's quiet nature often makes any reasonable points she may come up with easily lost in the other six stakes' chaos.
- Killjoy - At least, that's the way her sisters see it. Belphe often takes things more seriously than they need to be taken
+ Persuasive - Just relax...she'll handle everything gently.
- Needs to be Needed - This has nothing to do with romance. Belphe more or less insists on those around her putting their faith in her ability to do everything. She does not work well with independent folks or those who believe she's incapable.
+ / - Unwavering Fealty - She is, without a doubt, a trustworthy piece of furniture. However, that means any friendships or obligations she forms outside of the Mariage Sorciere can and will be dropped immediately when she is summoned.
+ Respectful of Worthy Opponents - Even when they assure her she would make a good wife and end up being kind of creepy. (thanks, Rudolph...)

First Person Sample:
[The camera's view is from up in a tree, peering down at what is fast becoming a very irate Belphegor]
Scythaaa!
If you think this is going to change my mind, you are sorely mistaken.
Scytheeeee....
[On their own game board, this situation would hardly have been an issue for her. As it is, floating up to the tree branch or appearing behind her offending pokemon in a cloud of golden butterflies is not an option. Ankou seems not only know of the barrel he has his master over, but to be gloating about it as well.]
I am well-aware I had promised you a rest once we reached Goldenrod, but surely you can understand some things are more important.
Scy! Scytha! [CLUNK goes the camera as the pokedex is set on the tree branch, a green, clawed foot placing itself possessively over the lens. That's okay, it doesn't inhibit the mic any...]
Ankou, stop this. Get down here, give it back, and you won't be punished.
Scy! Scy-scy-SCY! [It sounds distinctly like he's laughing at this compromise. He knows who's holding all the cards, here, Belphe.
A tiny, frustrated noise from below, followed by what is likely a foot stamping in annoyance.]
W-We've been summoned. Does that mean nothing to you? You're keeping Lady Beatrice waiting...!
SCYTHA! [DEAL WITH IT. The camera shuffles as the pokegear is picked up, and an insectile buzzing of wings marks Ankou's ascent further up into the tree. He can do this all day, how about you?]
Kyaaaa...!!! [A cry of sheer indignation in response to this move, and then she calls out loud enough to hopefully catch the microphone of the pokegear] Beatrice-sama!! I beg you, forgive your furniture, this delay was unforeseen! I will be at your side as soon as I can...!!
Third Person Sample: "As proper furniture, understand that I cannot stand by and allow you to insult Lady Beatrice." the acoustics of the gym lent her soft tone of voice an unusually-ominous presence as she stood off with the target of her Master's aggression.
"Insult?" Falkner asked, quirking a brow and then bursting into laughter. "She'll just need to train harder if she hopes to match the majesty of bird pokemon. Did you think that Violet City's best would hand his badge over to ANY challenger?"
This made a perfect amount of sense, of course...though, Lady Beatrice was far from being sensible when it came to matters of humiliating defeat. Belphegor, however, knew her place. And it was not to decide what was right or wrong in such cases, nor to question her master's behavior. Her place was to do as she had been told which, at present, was bring this young man to his knees in defeat and force him to acknowledge Beatrice the Golden as a force to be reckoned with.
A smile curved the middle sister's lips as a hand went to her belt, unholstering one of the pokeballs she was carrying. She hadn't expected him to understand his transgressions...those who were foolish enough to upset a witch seldom knew what it was they'd done. She would, however, be gracious and offer him an easy exit... "You might find it to be in your best interests, human." she said, turning the ball idly over in her fingertips. "This doesn't need to be painful, just let me handle everything. It will be over quickly."
"Quickly, eh?" In a flash, three pokeballs had been withdrawn and flung to the gym floor in an explosion of white light. A Noctowl, Honchkrow, and Pidgeot took substance in a fluttering of wings, falling into formation at Falkner's side as they awaited orders. "You don't scare me, little girl. Bring it on!"
His answer made the slight smile on Belphegor's mouth grow in volume, becoming less a gentle smirk and more the grin of someone deranged as her grip on the pokeball tightened. Still so perfectly calm, even when staring his own downfall right in the face. This would be most enjoyable.
"Beatrice-sama....thank you for the excellent prey."
