First two got off all right... cuts, bruises. Didn't sound like nothin' you wouldn't get smackin' your face off the pavement when you get pissed ( Read more... )

According to hospital records, the victim's name is Faith Lehane. She was discharged a week after admittance.

Unless I'm wrong, Gabriel Sylar was also associated with a murder committed before I started keeping cases were informally recorded. Given the nature of the City, however, that could have been a Gabriel Sylar from a different dimension than this one.

What information can he offer?

Right. Should prob'ly find 'er an' chase 'er up on that. Get 'er t'start talkin', or threaten 'er with charges for attemptin' t'pervert the course of justice.

'E never mentioned nothin' about murder... Might 'ave t'bring that up the next time I 'ave a chat with 'im. Se if there's anythin' else 'e forgot t'mention.

'E said 'e'd be useful undercover, 'cos 'e's got 'friends' who were of the less than savoury variety. Don't know if you've ever 'ad snouts before, but you don't tend t'know 'ow good their information is until after you've dropped charges. Then if they aren't good enough, you can make said charges reappear again.

The course of justice? I don't know if such a thing exists here.

If he can help, I see no reason for anyone to object. It's not as if we couldn't use it.

She don't need t'know that.

I never said nowt 'bout objectin'. Jus' said 'is charges could reappear again if 'is information in't up to standard.

Do we really want to use a mentally unstable murderer as a snitch?

Didn't know he were a murderer when I spoke to 'im, did I?

But if 'e is mentally unstable, there's no way we can send 'im down anyway. Best we can do is speak to 'im, see 'ow much 'elp 'e'd really be, then ship 'im off to the funny farm when 'e's no use t'us anymore.

I should amend my statement. Alleged murderer - from Justin's information. Still, I'm not inclined to believe in coincidences. If someone with the same name had been committing murders before, and this one's prone to assault? I say they're the same person.

Victims being unwilling to press charges isn't a sign of faith. It's a sign of fear of worse consequences were they to step up.

Regardless, we're not having the best luck with cases as it is. Let me know how the interview goes?

Seems likely 'e is. Not exactly a common name, is it?

You think I don't know that? It isn't about 'ow much faith we 'ave in 'im; it's about checks an' balances. Sometimes you need to get one bastard on side to get more collars.

Yeah, sure. Chris'll prob'ly make a tape, or take notes, or sommat. He likes doin' that.
