I thought it was crazy too - until I remembered that there was actually some media coverage of this proposed bill back before the "liberation of Iraq"occured. According to the Senators who introduced it, the point was to turn more people off of the war, because the idea that their children might be drafted would hopefully make voters push for the government to pull our troops out. Regardless, I think it's shocking how easily we've forgotten about it...and isn't it a little dangerous to even put something like this out there, with the possibility that it might be passed? Although, even if it were passed, I would imagine there would be massive protesting.
