Read the book "The Shack" It has a slightly different take on God and religion than the rest of the world. It talks about the trinity which is the destruction of man. Religion & politics were 2 of them. I can't remember the 3rd cuz it's been a while since I read the book, but it really put some things into perspective for me. If nothing else, you seem like you're the type who at least likes to explore all possible options. so check it out. Im sure you will love it.
Personally I think all lifeforms experience the same "transformation" after death. Science as always told us DMT exists in every living creature, including plants; grass for example.
To sum my personal opinion ( I'm being extremely sparse here ) I feel DMT is the element used to make death comforting and possible; I also feel DMT is the transient to another plane.
I feel God IS everything, God manifestation is in all of us; this cradles the ideology of pantheism. I believe God and the Universe are synonymous with each other, they're both infinitely recursive.
For certain is death for the born And certain is birth for the dead; Therefore over the inevitable Thou shault not grieve. -Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2
