Is anyone else slightly contemplating staying here over the holiday break? Is that even still an option?

I ususally go home for Christmas. Do the big family thing.

I usually do too, but it's not a big family thing for us. It's usually quiet and uneventful.

Uneventful can be good. Ours is nice and noisy. Everyone goes to Gram's for Christmas, and then the immediate family gets together for Boxing Day. Sometimes they stay the entire week between too, so it can get a little crowded.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Do you have a large extended family? Mine's really small, so it's just normally my dad, my Aunt Libby, and myself. There's always a lot of food, but it's not very exciting, hence why it might be more exciting to stay here!
