A good friend was writing about how someone expressed horror at her not putting her soon-to-be four year old in school this year. Isaac, who turns four very soon, is not in nursery or any enrichment classes either. I'm keeping him home out of convenience and the belief that I can teach him myself

Anyway, I do want to affirm that flashcards are a fun way to learn .. To my parents' surprise, I could recognize Chinese characters when I was two :) Hooray for homeschooling!

Yep... agree.. so important to have PLAY bring the major component in a kid's life. I got really freaked out when one day my niece told me my 5 yr old nephew has not played with the new toy train I gave him "because he got no time to play"!!!
