I agree with you 100% about Marian Keyes, though overall I consider her one of my favorite authors on the strength of Rachel's Holiday alone. She has written one of the sexiest romantic heroes EVER - Luke!! I liked Anybody Out There but boy did it depress the heck out of me too. It wasn't as good as Rachel's Holiday but was the best thing she's done in a while.

I'm really hoping and fearing she does a book about Helen.

Dreamy, manly, loving, dark-haired Luke? *swoon*! Rachel's Holiday touched me; I could identify with Rachel even though I'm not a junkie. I think Marian Keyes really had her finger on insecurities and the way we sometimes jeopardise our lives.

LOL - I'm certain she will do one on Helen - and probably market the whole lot as a bookset - but I'm not sure how she will navigate the touchy-feely bits. Helen does have flashes of true emotion but on the whole, she's more of an outsider/commentator.

It's interesting to hear from an American fan. I was given to believe that very few Americans read her.

I have had "Anybody out there" for ages but your review has prompted me to pick it up! Have you read Jill Mansell's books? Her books are awesome and she's my absolute fave Brit author.
