So... seriously... Why would I need God?

Uh-huh? I think I cope with void and difficulties quite well without his assistance, thank you ;)

Your relationship with God is not supposed to be based on selfish need, anyway.

What is it supposed to be based on then ?
Because the majority of the religious people I've met expect something from their deity.
Even if they say "We love the Lord", their feeling is far from a platonic one and they want God to love them in return.
They want to be saved, to be protected, to be blessed.
Isn't this selfish ?

No idea.

On a separate note: What should I do with an afternoon/evening in Warsaw in late November? My train from Gdansk will arrive mid-afternoon and my overnight bus to Riga doesn't leave until almost midnight, so I'll need something to do. And do you know if the bus or train station has luggage lockers, so I don't need to carry my backpack around during that time? Thanks.

Centralna has baggage lockers and a kind of cloakroom (which is in fact cheaper) to leave stuff. I've left it there and had no problem. :)

As khrysha wrote, there are luggage lockers on the train station. I didn't use them though.
And if you want we could meet at the train station and go to the Old Town for an hour or so. There is also a mall just next to the station. You can stay there later until your bus arrives.

That could be fun! I'll keep you posted as to when precisely I will be there. Thanks.

Nirvana is within you, always. You've just got to 'awaken' to it!
