For the first time in my life we are completely out of basil.  We buy this stuff by the boatload since Dad loves to throw it in most everything.  Used up the small bottle when making chicken stew and went to refill it and poof no basil.  Practically took the pantry apart looking for it.

Dude, there are few things as irritating as discovering you don't have a spice you could have SWORN you had.

Just glad I had enough for the stew. It would have been really bland since I'm not going out into rush hour traffic to buy more.

I never seem to remember to get Oregano when I make the Chili at home. I need to get some of that soon because it helps in a variety of dishes. So I can understand your issue.

We're always running out of rosemary. True droughts have been avoided lately because we have two plants in the house that require trimming now and then. I make this dish called chicken with wine and rosemary (and garlic and vinegar) that everyone loves so that's mainly why. But we were out of rosemary after making the turkey dressing for Thanksgiving. At least it was after!
