The real criminal is the police guy that investigated the case. He actually was Taisuke's parents' friend. He wanted to borrow the money for his son's operation but his parents didn't agree to let him. That's why he killed them to get the money. The owner of the chain restaurants, sorry I forgot his name,,, ;P bought the hayashi rice's recipe from Taisuke's father. He came that night to make sure that Taisuke's father wouldn't sell the recipe to other people. He brought his umbrella but when he came back he accidentally took that police's umbrella. That wasn't his so he kept it since that day and waited for the police to come. But no one came since the police didn't investigate the umbrella carefully. The real criminal was afraid his finger prints would be on the umbrella
