I think I'd reverse the order: Eastercon is tremendous fun, of which I heartily approve, I at least passively tolerate WGW, and have never understood the attraction of motor racing.
You have a more stylish Mitch icon, but I'm in the other half of mine. And this one. :)
From your photos, you were both much further right than I was. I wish I'd got a good one of Mitch and Neil together, but Neil was pretty much in front of Mitch from my perspective. :(
but I'm in the other half of mine Unfortunately, camera disagreements intercepted my chance to be in the same photo as Mitch. [sigh]
both much further right Yep, we were in the right-hand side of the hall, partway along the seats - and I was in the second row, which didn't help (we were in the front, until a row of seats appeared in front of me). [grin] Similar angle to you, but on the other side. And it was a bit dingy from that angle, even from my camera and lens!
Hmm. Assuming whatever's distorting the underlying geometries of the Radisson doesn't affect Capacitive reactance, or resistance, the we could just drive make a simple RC circuit, and measure the capacitance.
Few to many assumptions there.
I don't think I'll be able to get a timer accurate enough to spot the difference between light going around straight verses coiled optical cable.
Next year should be fun (in Bradford), the year after (which I may or may not be involved in, grin!) will be stunningly wonderful :-) and back at the Heathrow Hotel of twisty passages :-)

Jesus, this is too small a small world. Everyone I know seems to attend Eastercon xor Whitby Goth Weekend xor Les 24 Heures du Mans.
I approve of the last, passively tolerate people going to the first and giggle uncontrollably at thought of grown-ups going to the second . ;)

Well, that lets me out! [grin]

However, bizarrely referencing a relevant conversation, I'm just eating a pack of Wheat Crunchies ... [grin]

*nod* I was near the left-hand side, front row. Next-but-one to NG, so about 3 chairs from the far left altogether.

Or at least mock one up.
