I tried on my petticoat yesterday so that I could fit the straps. So you get (not very exciting bathroom mirror) pictures! The fabric is a cotton print from the Old Sturbridge Village collection by Judie Rothermel and I found the actual fabric on the OSV website, which dates it to 1822, so a bit after this outfit, but still pretty close. Thanks Jen! It's been sitting in the stash for a LONG time, so it's about time it got used for something.

Fun fabric - it makes it look like the whole thing is cut on the bias!

Thank you! Yeah, it gives an interesting effect. I'll have a decent amount left over once this is done. It might be fun to add bias ruffles that would look like they're cut on the straight.

I was wondering if it was cut on the bias, but presumably not. I love the idea of bias ruffles if you have the fabric :-)

It's great! I love it :-)

Nope, it's just a tricky fabric. There's a floral pattern running diagonally one way and the blue-white ombre stripe running diagonally the other way.

Thanks! :)
