we had that discussion about circles of confusion, right?
i'm trying to figure out what properties of shading or perspective are giving me that feeling of each light being placed on the surface of a sphere -- they're bowing toward me. not that i needed an excuse to keep looking.
I'm not sure if we talked about that. I run in a few different circles, and they are all mostly confused.
You didn't hear this from me, but I think that much of what is going on with the perspective-and-projection-ness of this one can be credited to the ($3400(!!!)) lens. So much for hot-shit German glass.
Speaking of which, I am almost ready to get the shutter on that Schneider fixed. And then I am going to try to get a box to put it on the front of as a Christmas/birthday gift to myself.
And we still need to figure out if you want me to make something for you, not that this is the time or place to discuss that.
I may be able to get down your way sometime this weekend if you're free. Let me know.
the schneider is ready for action -- i make time to shoot portraits with it but i don't have quite enough bellows to get in very close -- 300mm is a lot of room. your box, when you make it, is going to have to be pretty long. great idea tho -- and i have the thing timing pretty consistently at one second -- i remember when you gave it to me, it wouldn't time properly, perhaps. anyway, one second is reliable. yes yes --- you should put your design skills to work on an untitled image showcase project of mine -- i will buy you lunch when i return the schneider and discuss everything. more later -- m
