Ahh i had horrible nightmares for about three years straight when i was little, so i know the feeling. i love the fact that you were able to turn something you were so afraid of into a great piece of art! the picture is awesome and the story behind it makes it even more intruiging.
quite vividly actually... the most common one i had still pops in to my mind sommetimes. You know how you tell "horror" stories at slumber parties and halloween parties? the ones that aren't actually scary but just kind of creepy? Well there was this one about groups of people staying on an old house and when they tried to go to sleep a severed head would fall down the fireplace. For years after I heard this story (i was around 7 or 8), i had nightmares of myself just about to drift off to sleep when a severed head would fall from out of nowhere. The creepiest part was that the heads were always someone that i was very close to, and i honestly never got over that. About a year ago i had my first nightmare in like three years and it was that same one. For a long time i was afraid to go to sleep and now I have have pretty bad Insomnia because of it (or at least i think it has something to do with it).
my nightmares are different now. they almost always involve losing my children or my children dying. it's the worst feeling in the world to wake up after one of those. i had one last night actually and it incorporated a real live earthquake san diego had at 4am! it was really bizarre. but i woke up during the earthquake feeling red hot because in my dream, ramey and i were in a building that was collapsing and i tried to grab her hand to keep her from falling - but i couldn't reach and the building floor just fell out from under us. that's when the earthquake happened and it woke me up. weird huh??
your nightmare would make a pretty neat photo too....
that is a wonderful shot and story to go with it... I'm not sure if I could shoot my reaccuring dream or maybe i could photo shop it. Your work is just inspiring and fabulous!!!
It´s weird, interesting to see the pics fist in the challenge and some entries later here ... with the story for background. That makes more sense now.
Sounds horrible! I remember my nightmares as a child ... o they were so heavy, soo bad. Can´t talk about it ... sorry.
Anyway ... I still like your legs looking out of the chair. *hehe* ;-)
That would be mean, we would see us in person and indroducing ourselfes and have a great time together?! That´s a good therapy. And don´t call me silly ... *hehe* ;-)
Dude, Sounds like a scene out of a fucked up japanese horror flick! You should check out this japanese director called takashi miike. Fucked up extraordinary stuff. Also check out another film called funny games by michael haneke. weird shit!
