Hi, looking for sunset pictures when i found your page, thought i'd post under this picture as its less crowded and my personal favourite out of the bunch. You certainly have the eye, and the ideas.... what do you use? and what are your opinions on using programs to enhance gamma, contrast etc? This particular piece dances with music; sigur ros - untitled(3). Also, i dont know how to post pictures, being a new user. Any advice? Cheers.

thanks for the kind words. being a graphic artist by trade, i am not a photographer in a traditional sense. i'm more about using digital to create an interesting, yet very real, image. i love color.
ALL cameras have limitations when it comes to luminance and detail. even before cameras went digital, photographers were plagued by this problem. they used blackrooms to restore shadows, highlights, color and detail (still do), and so i have no problems using software to do the same thing.
i stumbled on livejournal back in april of this year and learned pretty quickly how to upload pictures by reading their faq. go to www.photobucket.com for picture hosting. i ended up paying $25 for unlimited bandwidth which is worth it to me considering i update my journal daily with a photo or two.let me know if you'd like further help. of course, now that you mention sigur ros, i'm curious to see your photos.

Thanks for the info and opinions. Your comment about the faq's is kinda funny in a gender based way, I'm a guy, so any hints or instructions are out of bounds and I guess I'm supposed to wait until I sob with despair before consulting them! And before you assume that I'm broad minded from the sigur ros thing, it was a female of the species who inducted me, I was a strictly mogwai man before. Well, them and a hundred other bands expressing beauty. Unfortunately I'm as tight pocketed as they come so I doubt I'll front the $25 for web space, but if you got an email address I could send you a few pics and you could post them or hit me back with some ideas and edits, or pictures of your own. If it's to much hassle not to worry, I'll check back here to see your new work.

apologies for not getting back to you sooner. holiday madness blah blah blah.
i received your email and photos. #1 is your original photo. #2 is my edit - i cropped the blue edges out and adjusted the levels to improve contrast and reduce the harsh light/saturation. #3 is my edit converted to b/w which is pretty nice too.
thanks!! i haven't had much time for my photography lately, so i apologize in advance for what i've posted lately. but feel free to comment just the same :)
