Big Love

I really really need to know why the backyards on Big Love are all dirt, no grass. Can someone please explain that to me?

(and I'm only on Episode 10 of Season 1, fyi)

I just assumed it's because they're in Utah and didn't seen the point in spending money on grass in a desert?

I thought that, but I'm pretty sure people in Utah have grass, in general.. don't they?

depends on the part. Mom lives in Nevada, which is really close to Utah, and you have to pay a lot to keep grass alive there. So most people choose to landscape with rocks/native plants/swimming pools etc. instead.

They have a lot of other things on their minds? I can't wait for the new season!

We're really getting into it - instead of doing something productive while none of our shows are on.. we started season one of Big Love.. heh

I love that show! I can't remember if we watched the 1st season on DVD or not...I think we did though. I'm going to order HBO the day before the season starts up again. :D

Yeah, my first thought was "Utah..." I've not watched the show.

I know here in AZ some ppl will spend the money to put in grass. Think of it... it's a DESERT... it's not natural to have green. Really. So all the pretty green that we have here in Phoenix is brought in by stupid ppl... who wanted to move here to get away from their allergies in other places. :D "The comforts of home." Costs a lot of money to keep grass in arid areas. *Shrug*

I've been to Utah - there's hardly any grass there...Unless you pay a lot of $$ to maintain a yard.
