Hi guys, I've got a technical problem with this commenting thing. When you post an entry, you can change the font type, set it in bold or italics, place an lj - user and so on. But how do you make it when commenting on sb's entry? There must be some option but I can't find it :(

And another thing - how do you post a link that hides the www address ( Read more... )

for the comments, if you want it to be

bold: < b > word < /b > (without the spaces!!!)
italic: < i > word < /i >
strikethrough: < s > word < /s >

< a href="url" >Text to be displayed < /a >

Here's a link that might help

You're NOT stupid! I learned this all by trial and error, and believe me most of it was errors!

I practiced doing this on my own posts, deleting the comments afterwards. And I still mess up all the time!

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, honey *hugs*. I'll see if I can manage following Sarah's instructions next time I comment somewhere :)

It seems like nocturnal08 has it covered, but maybe I can still be a little help. :)

To place an lj-user into the comments type < lj user="insert username">. When you remove the space after the first bracket you get an automatic link to the user. It works the same with communitys.

Here is a tutorial that explains how to change the size, color and font of words.
