This afternoon, whilst walking the aforepictured dog, the following encounters took place within a span of five minutes:

Dogs make it easier to approach people. I once saw a guy that looked like he came out of an Aeon Flux cartoon: 6'8", thin as a rail, black vinyl pants, chains, an unbuttoned vest with no shirt, dyed black dreadlocks, eyeliner, the sides of his head were shaved...and a 2-pound chihuahua. Most people would veer off a bit, give the guy a little extra room on the sidewalk, but instead he was hounded by 50-year-old women who wanted to ask him about his dog: "Is it a puppy?" or "What kind of dog is that?"

Unfortunately, dogs make it especially easy for crazy people to approach you.

Also, sometimes they pretend like you aren't there and just talk to your dog.
